The Witkop Foundation hosts the Gold Star family of fallen USAF Fighter Pilot Major Troy Gilbert on Safari to honor his heroic efforts, saving 22 special forces from insurgent attack in 2006.   Major Gilberts singularly distinguished accomplishments, saving U.S. Special Forces attacked by a numerically superior insurgent force is complimented and accompanied by his surviving Gold Star family that continues dedication and service to our great nation and the men and women who serve it.  Their selfless actions and call to duty, carry on a family tradition of service to God, Country and Family.   

The Witkop Foundation is proud to present this short documentary in honor of Major Troy "Trojan" Gilbert; recorded during Operation Patriot Safari - 2019 -- dedicated to his memory and gallant action in Iraq for which he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor.  Major Gilberts singularly distinguished accomplishments, saving U.S. Special Forces attacked by a numerically superior insurgent force is complimented and accompanied by his surviving Gold Star family that continues dedication and service to our great nation and the men and women who serve it.  Their selfless actions and call to duty, carry on a family tradition of service to God, Country and Family.
