Witkop Foundation Programs
Safari - /səˈfɑːri/ noun
1. an expedition to observe or hunt animals in their natural habitat. "one week on safari"
Four programs are available through the Witkop Foundation in support of our mission; Guiding and facilitating veteran, military and first responder families into the field while "on safari" is the first program designated OPERATION PATRIOT SAFARI.
Introducing and educating the children of veteran, military and first responder families with outdoor experiences and safari is the second program designated OPERATION PATRIOT YOUTH.
The third program OPERATION PATRIOT HARVEST places sponsors and hunters together in the field with nominated honorees. OPH expeditions are conducted in the U.S. and abroad.
The fourth option, the AFRICAN SAFARI BENEFACTOR package, allows you to self-nominate and/or tailor a safari to your personal preference with a portion of the proceeds as a charitable donation to further the Foundations mission. Benefactor packages may be combined with other packages to make the event a special expedition for friends, family or that special honoree with whom you wish to safari.
Operation Patriot Safari
Combat wounded Veterans have given selflessly in service to our country. They were not alone in this effort; with the family carrying a heavy burden in support back home and serving in their own way.
The Witkop Foundation will host Gold Star families and combat wounded Veterans on safari, allowing them an opportunity to share an expedition of a lifetime as a way of saying thank you. They will be housed at the beautiful Witkop Lodge, nestled in the foot hills of Mount Witkop and guided by experienced Professional Hunters through a veteran owned and well established safari on the 8000 acre Witkop Safari ranch near Paul Roux, South Africa.
Operation Patriot Youth
The children of military, veterans and first responders are especially dear to us, both Jess and Don having been fortunate enough to have been taught about the great outdoors by a parent and also able to pass on that tradition to their own daughters.
Through the Witkop Foundations efforts, these children will have an opportunity to safari or participate in an outdoor excursion, learning about safe handling of firearms, appreciation of nature and natural resources as well as the wildlife that depends upon it, teaching them the crafts of the harvest and the meaning of the circle of life.
Operation Patriot Harvest
The Foundation joins military, veterans and first responders with sponsor/hunters on a domestic U.S. or international expedition abroad. Participation in an OPH event will focus on morale, wellness, and recreation through various outdoor adventures in the field and around our campfire. Honorees may be nominated or selected by the Foundation.
In addition to the honoree you will have the counsel of Professional Hunters and other outdoor enthusiast-volunteers in the service of the Foundation. Proceeds will be donated in your name to the Witkop Foundation.
